Extraction of essential oil by distillation
The cultivation of lavender is an ancient skill. Its evolution has essentially resulted in mechanization and industrialization of production. Lavender and lavender are planted in straight furrows, which shape the emblematic landscapes of Provence. The harvest is carried out by more or less voluminous machines according to the type and the destination of the product. The essential oil is then obtained by distillation with water vapor (still). Some distilleries welcome the public to discover this know-how.
