A fascinating visit, in the heart of the Luberon

The Musee de la Lavande, a tailor-made setting for our precious flower

Producer and distiller of fine lavender for 5 generations, the Lincelé family is passionate about this flower. A precious lavender that knows how to charm, care for, color and draw the most photographed landscapes in the world and that symbolizes a whole art of living in Provence… How can we not wish to protect her when we know her fragility and preciousness? It is in this perspective of preservation and transmission that the Lincelé family committed itself more than 30 years ago, by creating the Lavender Museum in Cabrières-d’Avignon, on our Lavender Routes®.

It is in this perspective of preservation and transmission that the Lincelé family committed itself 30 years ago, by creating the Musee de la Lavande in Cabrières-d’Avignon, on our Routes de la Lavande®. Avant-garde and innovative, he created the first and only museum dedicated exclusively to the fine lavender of Provence, lavandula officinalis.

Dedicated to the history and know-how of lavender growers, the Musee de la Lavande offers an interactive exhibition to discover the history of lavender, its use in perfumery and cosmetics, as well as all its uses and benefits. A superb store concludes the visit.

Visits, workshops, animations, events... There is always something going on at the Lavender Museum!

Throughout the year, a rich program of activities and visits is offered to visitors. For example, the traditional tour with audio-guide (available in 11 languages!): a rhythmic and autonomous discovery of the museum, accessible all year round. Exhibitions, film screenings, tests and tastings are on the program.

More specific summer visits and animations are also proposed: lavender bag making, old fashioned distillation, sensory workshops or watercolor workshop. So many original ways to discover the enchanting world of lavender!

The museum and the store are open every day from April1st to December 23rd, from 10am to 1pm and from 2pm to 6pm. In July and August, opening from 10am to 7pm non stop. We advise you to arrive 1 hour before closing time, in order to fully enjoy your visit (count between 1h and 1h30 of visit).

The museum store is open in winter by reservation from Monday to Friday: www.lechateaudubois.fr

Château du Bois de Provence®, a 100% local brand

This oil is used exclusively for the needs of the cosmetic brand of the Domaine: Le Château du Bois Provence®.
